Evolving a not-for-profit brand

Charity Bounce is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to inspire positive change to overcome disadvantage for individuals and communities. With a focus on education and employment, the social programs used are delivered in partnership with professional sports, using basketball and engaging professional athletes to motivate change and inspire young people by providing access to ‘out-of-reach’ opportunities.

Objective

Increase the awareness of Charity Bounce within Australia’s corporate sector and promote its work to inspire young people. We were delighted to build the brand and create marketing collateral on a pro bono basis.

How we did it

We shone a spotlight on Tracy Williams, the former Harlem Globetrotter basketball player, inspirational and motivational speaker, and Charity Bounce’s newest global ambassador. The new marketing campaign featured Tracy in a gritty urban environment that reflected his tough New York upbringing.

Basketball elements highlighted Tracy’s achievements and his direct experience of overcoming disadvantage. This demonstrated the authenticity of Charity Bounce’s strategies and volunteers in a dynamic, modern and visually engaging way that would appeal to corporate Australia.

Results

Charity Bounce is using the new collateral to book talks and conferences throughout the year and raise awareness and donations within the corporate sector.

Six Black Pens has been able to leverage the values and story of Tracy Williams to engage and demonstrate our organisation’s drive to inspire young people. Using Tracy to create brand and marketing materials that demonstrate what we are all about has enabled us to have a huge impact with presentations and talks across the country.
